My Story

Paul moved to Harrisonburg in 2008 after earning a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of West Georgia and a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration from NC State University. With a background in counseling, education, and administration, Paul has always had a passion for working with people as they navigate the transitions of life and work. Once in Harrisonburg, Paul worked for several years at James Madison University and then a local plumbing & industrial supply wholesaler, and quickly felt at home on the mountain trails and historic towns of the central valley. Together, Paul’s educational training, industrial background, and love for the valley, provide him a unique insight for helping individuals, families and businesses find the home or office where their dreams will continue to grow.

Paul first experienced the quality service that the Funkhouser Real Estate Group offers when he bought is first home in 2012, and since the spring of 2014 has been eager to share that same experience and service with others. Working with Paul, you can expect to find a personalized level of care, which is aided by technology, to help you find the home or office that is right for you. Using the full range of his experience, Paul will assist you with the decisions that come with a real estate purchase/lease and will utilize the full scope of resources available within the Funkhouser team to ensure your experience is always a positive one.

Paul is an active volunteer with The Community Foundation and various campus Christian ministries at JMU.  He and his wife Nichole, a Financial Advisor, live in Rockingham County and have one son, Owen and twin daughters, Reese and Becca.
